The Farmington Hotel ★★★★

The hotel is located right in front of the ROB Airport. I arrived quite late in the airport and a hotel staff was in front of the arrival gate to pick up the guests. Then we were driven to the hotel. In the departure day I walked 5 minutes to the ROB airport, as no van was available, but it was fine.

The breakfast is quite unusual for an european. There is no such a variety as I imagined, considering the price of the overnight. The room I got was in need of some renovation, especially in the bathroom.

The Breakfast spread was awesome. Pastries very delicious and well-made. The food at this hotel is very good. Lovely environment, beautiful view. Helpful and warm staff.

Too much Mosquitoes at the Lobby/Reception. Staff claim its because of the river at the back of the hotel, but I am from Lagos where we have many hotels overlooking the water, so I found that excuse implausible. They need to learn to fumigate properly. It would have been nice if there is some sort of rug on the floor surrounding the bed in the room. The early check-in rate of $95 extra is a bit Steep.

The manager was particularly friendly and helpful. All the staff are very professional and cordial. It was great to see the restaurant staff smiling at 5am, and the chef makes some really good omelets

I filled out a card asking for a wakeup call at 4:30 a.m., but I didn't get a call. It's a good thing I was already up by that time. It must have been an oversight on the part of the staff on duty. I recommend steps be taken to ensure that no wake call requests are overlooked in the future, as that could lead to a guest missing his or her flight.

I had to be at thairport at 5h30 AM and they served breakfast from 5 AM and took me to the airport on time..

Booking announced a price of $189 including taxes, but they still added a 10% surcharge it came to $207.

It has maintained it's standards since opening. Very clean room and very good service. Quiet haven after the airport arrival chaos and good to catch up on first night jetlag recovery.

Caught the attention of waitress and asked to order food, she didn’t acknowledge me, but just shouted to a colleague to serve. Waited another 10 minutes and approached the bar to ask if we can order at the bar. She looked at me angrily and said in a loud voice that she told me before someone would be over. Don’t really expect to be spoken or treated like that, so will be relaying my experience on TripAdviser. Otherwise quite a nice experience

It's a bit quiet as I am assuming it's the rainy season there, besides the location is great for me due to work but can be an obstacle if you wish to discover Monrovia,. nevertheless they have good car rental service available 24/7. thanks to Clarence Nancy and Romeo for taking care of us, Mareta, Etta and Josephine at breakfast and bar

Room is spacious, bed is comfortable, the infinity pool is to die for, the staff is attentive and smiling, especially at the reception and the restaurants. The rooms manager Romeo made me feel at home and was very helpful.

Location across street from airport. Very clean room and comfortable bed. Modern and nicely laid out. Air conditioning worked great. Great shower. Convenient food options. Good buffet for breakfast and lunch available. Outdoor pool was refreshing for a quick dip. Workout gym was good.

Unpleasant general odor in hotel main open areas -- like new rubber car tires with a bit of moth ball odor. Elliptical machine in gym had "error" message on screen and wouldn't adjust. Workout gym was warm with little air flow (it had air conditioning, but was noticeably different from rest of hotel). Some spots on walls and ceiling in hallways had discoloration -- like water or mildew stains? Room bathrooms need brighter lighting. Needed to put 2 keys in room slot that activated electricity in room -- should just need 1 key to do so.

The location is easily walkable to places around Gbarnga. It is safe and has security guards and a fence to guard you. The restaurant is comfortable.

The electricity is not reliable in Liberia so it is not necessarily the fault of Passion Hotel. However, the a/c did work nicely when it was on. The hotel allocates one towel per room and it may not have a shower curtain. You just need to set the expectations low.

The location of the hotel in relation to the airport is amazing. You can walk to the airport and the hotel is soundproof. The pools are freshwater, varied and wonderful, as is the view of the Farmington river. The size of the rooms are very nice as is the complimentary water in the rooms. The Liberian staff are very friendly. The breakfast, especially the custom omelets, are amazing!

This is going to sound very anal and I wouldn't usually write a review like this. However, if you call yourself "the most luxurious hotel in Liberia" I feel like you need to have a well trained staff that can provide a top-notch experience. The main complaint I have is that the staff lacks attention to detail, making it unable to compete with other luxury hotels in Monrovia like the Mamba Pointe. While not a dealbreaker, and I will definitely be back, I wouldn't call it the "most luxurious hotel in Monrovia". Bathroom: During my first stay I was in a room where part of the broken towel rack was placed under the sink, clearly visible to guests. Considering each room comes with a very nice bathtub equipped with a pillow, it is a shame that both times I've stayed no one has cleaned under the non-slip shower mat in the bathtub. Both times I lifted it and there was large amounts of dirt under the mats. This makes it undesirable to take advantage of the bath. Also the shower curtains are just decorative outer curtains and there is no waterproof shower curtain behind it. The makes it so the bathroom becomes soaking wet when showering and the marble floors make it extremely slippery, which is a safety hazard. Also the shower curtains are all stained and not put on the shower rod correctly. I rehung the shower curtain the last time I was there, it is not hard! Room: Both times there has been cobwebs on the ceiling of the rooms. The bed is incredibly firm, it's like sleeping on a box. Also, the coffee maker in the rooms lack milk or creamer, so bring your own if you want to drink coffee in your room. Bar/ Restaurant: The service is very friendly but incredibly slow. I'm sure it's because they are understaffed and people are told to stick to their own roles, so they are unable/unwilling to problem solve without involving management. The pool bar is open arbitrarily, even though it is supposed to be open everyday.

Excellent location and breakfast and three pools for different uses. Clean and spacious rooms

The pools are not accommodated to the entry/exit by the handicapped/older persons. There are steps into the pool, which helps in getting in, however it matters installing hand rails - at least at one end of the two pools for grown ups - assisting the handicapped persons getting out of the pool's stair by holding firmly to handrails.

The rooms are specious and comfortable

Hotel owners please understand that for a guest it is more important to have a comfortable, soft bed than expensive chandelier hanging in the lobby. The bed was TERRIBLE.

I made a reservation for $190 only for us to get there and find out it was $207 rather.
